ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS for combined psychotherapy and medication management (Ages 22 and older)
Dr. Nick Petrosino is a board-certified general adult psychiatrist who specializes in psychotherapy. He completed his medical degree and psychiatry residency training at Brown University.
From Dr. Petrosino:
I offer a combination of psychotherapy and medication management in-person at our office in South Burlington. My goal is to provide compassionate and individualized mental health care. Our first visit will be a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that is 60-90 minutes long, and then follow-up visits are typically on a monthly basis and are 20-25 minutes long. Medications and a “biomedical” approach to mental health is an essential piece of the treatment I offer, though it is only one piece, and we will also look together at many other aspects of your mental health including psychological patterns, personality, relationships, early life history, existential concerns, nutrition and activity, and spirituality (if relevant for you). Psychotherapy will be part of our regular visits - I believe I can provide the best and most informed treatment when we are looking at your symptoms on a deeper level. I integrate various types of psychotherapy and mindfulness practices depending on what your treatment goals are, though work primarily with psychodynamic psychotherapy. If we determine after our initial set of visits that you are looking for more in-depth and frequent psychotherapy, I may be able to offer weekly psychotherapy depending on availability.
